We’re a month into the year, which means it’s time for a little writing and authorly update!
On the writing side, I must admit that not much has been accomplished. My momentum from much of last year grinded to an abrupt halt, partly due to the family vacation I was on to start off the year. Add the stress of a strange semester and an annoying roommate, and it’s safe to say that a little over 10k for the month isn’t half bad.
Still, if I want to reach my writing goals this year, I know I’ll have to make up for those lost words eventually. Fingers crossed I’ll get into a better groove in the remaining weeks of university, but I know that at the very least, I’ll be able to create much easier once I graduate and am not dealing with two jobs on top of schoolwork.
To turn to a positive note, though, I do feel myself getting out of my funk. With some encouragement from my writing buddies (and a little self-indulgent fluff), I am getting re-motivated for The Unwanted Sacrifice and Ghosts of the Steel Road’s sequel. Even better, I’m slowly solidifying the plot on the former, which has been a struggle for me to get down during this second draft.
Now to the more exciting news: I finally have a newsletter! Due to the chaos that social media is currently going through, alongside my difficulty to keep up with the daily posting that is expected on places like Instagram, I decided it was finally time to try to keep all of my ducks in order and in one place.
